چکیده
Hesperozygis ringens (Lamiaceae), popularly known as espanta-pulga, is a threatened species endemic to rocky and sandy regions of the Pampa biome. One factor that can influence low number individuals seed germination rate influenced by temperature and/or light. Thus, objective this study was evaluate light on H. ringens. The seeds two lots were sown paper substrate maintained in BOD chambers at temperatures 15, 20, 25 30ºC presence absence speed evaluated every 3 days for 21 days. experiment completely randomized with treatments had 4 x 2 factorial design. first visible sign (protrusion primary root) observed seven after sowing. Germination occurred both lowest significantly process speed. For germinating species, 15°C most favorable compared 30°C. It be concluded 15ºC favors seeds, which are insensitive

Germination and soil seed bank traits of Podocarpus angustifolius (Podocarpaceae): an endemic tree species from Cuban rain forests.
Podocarpus angustifolius is an endangered recalcitrant-seeded small tree, endemic to mountain rain forests in the central and Pinar del Río regions in Cuba. In this study, the germination patterns of P. angustifolius seeds were evaluated and the nature of the soil seed bank was determined. Using a weighted two-factor design, we analyzed the combined germination response to seed source (i.e. fre...
متن کاملAntibacterial and antifungal activities of the endemic species Nepeta depauperata Benth.
Nepeta depauperata belongs to the Lamiaceae family and is one the Persian endemic plants which has not been investigated biologically. In the present paper we had focused on the assessment of the antibacterial and antifungal activities of the total methanolic extract and different sub-fraction of the flowering aerial parts of it. The Antibacterial and antifungal activities were investi...
متن کاملNotes and records Preliminary observations indicate that giant tortoise ingestion improves seed germination for an endemic ebony species in Mauritius
Native forest in Mauritius has been reduced to patchy degraded fragments and the extinction risk of constituent rare endemic plants is compounded by poor seed germination (Page & D’Argent, 1997; Safford, 1997; Nyhagen et al., 2005). Endemic fruiting plants evolved alongside a number of ecologically important large frugivores that are now extinct, such as the dodo (Raphus cucullatus L.) and two ...
متن کاملSeed and Germination Characteristics of 20 Amazonian Liana Species.
Lianas are an important component of tropical forests, and may reach their highest densities in disturbed areas. However, information on seed and germination characteristics is scarce. Twenty Amazon liana species were screened for their germination characteristics, including light dependence, tolerance of desiccation and of alternating temperatures; these characteristics are considered importan...
